Senior Legal Counsel
Marine Essence Biosciences - Chino, CA
This is an attorney-level position in the M-E-B and Legal Affairs department to provide day-to-day legal and business affairs services, with a focus on original, live action scripted series development and production and talent, across various lines of business.

Responsibilities:
Structuring, drafting and negotiating development and production agreements (e.g., rights acquisition, producer, writer, production services, and talent agreements, venue and location releases, etc.)
Performing and/or supervising day-to-day legal production work
Counseling in-house client groups (including Development, Production and Marketing teams) on variety of legal issues, deal-making strategies and corporate policies
Managing all types of production-related legal matters
Reviewing and approving legal contracts for execution by management
Overseeing contract administration and compliance
Researching relevant legal issues
Providing risk assessments for production-related matters
Performing other day-to-day business and legal affairs-related tasks as needed and assigned by senior business and legal affairs executives.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience at a network, entertainment law firm or production company.
Strong legal writing and research skills using a variety of sources.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful and sensitive manner.
Demonstrated marketing and strategic analysis skills with an ability to understand key business drivers and how to execute a robust strategic plan. Strong understanding of how to leverage consumer insights and brand building tools to support a larger brand narrative and go to market strategy
A self-starter, able to take ownership and responsibility for projects. Anticipates problems and rolls up sleeves to foresee problems, tackle large projects and get things done
