Teach or co-teach a course on AI and the Law: In this course, students will investigate the role of algorithms and automated decision-making systems in law and society. The course connects legal and computational concepts such as transparency, trustworthiness, privacy, bias, and fairness. Students will explore legal, ethical, policy, and technical challenges posed by artificial intelligence and big data. They will learn about current and future technological capabilities, identify societal challenges arising from emerging technologies, and examine how the legal system and public policy should respond. They will also learn how artificial intelligence will affect legal practice. Students need not have technological expertise—the course will provide technical background as needed. The Adjunct Faculty Member reports to the Law School's Associate Dean for Faculty & Curriculum. Time taught to be determined by the applicant's schedule. WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE? Required Degree: JD required. Required degree must be completed by the start date. Must be an active member of the Utah Bar. Experience: The applicant must have knowledge of the topic and significant teaching experience. 50 |
