| The Associate General Counsel acts as the organization’s primary legal expert on employment and corporate matters, reporting directly to the CEO. This role provides strategic legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholders, manages compliance matters, negotiates contracts, and represents the organization in legal proceedings. The Associate General Counsel works closely with various departments to ensure that operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Associate General Counsel – Part Time Location: Inwood, NY Job Type: Part-Time What you will do: · Legal Advice: o Advise management on legal rights, obligations, and risk. o Provide legal guidance on a wide range of issues, including employee relations, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance. · Document Management: o Develop, implement, and maintain effective processes for contract drafting, negotiation, review, approval, and storage to ensure the company’s legal interests are protected. · Mergers and Acquisitions: o Support the due diligence process during mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions. · Litigation Management: o Manage corporate litigation matters, including working with external counsel when necessary to defend the company's interests in lawsuits. o Coordinate responses to subpoenas, investigations, or disputes. · Risk Management: o Identify potential legal risks and advising management on strategies to mitigate these risks. · Staying Updated: o Keep abreast of changes in employment law and legal precedents is crucial to provide accurate guidance and representation. What you should have: · Strong understanding of business operations, process improvement, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration. · Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to build, manage, and inspire high-performing teams. · Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of influencing and collaborating across all levels of the organization.
