| A dedicated Associate Attorney is sought to participate in a Skill Bridge Fellowship Cohort Program within a Legal and Advisory Services organization, based at a corporate headquarters in San Antonio, TX. This cohort-based, 12-week professional development program is designed to support transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses by enhancing their skills, experience, and competitiveness for future employment in corporate legal and business environments. In this role, the Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel to assigned internal clients, addressing routine to moderately complex legal matters and communicating practical legal guidance. The position involves partnering with business stakeholders to understand strategic and operational objectives, collaborating with internal teams across business and legal functions, and developing a foundational understanding of relevant business operations, industry dynamics, and areas of legal practice. Associate Attorney – Skill Bridge Fellowship (Legal & Advisory Services) R0116036 Location: San Antonio, TX Job Type: Full time What you’ll do: Provides legal counsel to support business objectives and mitigate regulatory, compliance and litigation risk to USAA. Leads routine to moderately complex legal assignments and delivers appropriate solutions. Effectively communicates with internal stakeholders in both verbal and written forms. Monitors and analyzes changes in laws, regulations and industry and advises organizational leadership of such changes as appropriate. Supports senior attorneys with legal questions or issues by leveraging general knowledge and conducting research. Ensures escalation of matters presenting more significant risk to more senior attorneys. If awaiting bar licensure, assignments will be completed under the supervision of a licensed attorney. All legal advice will be provided by a licensed attorney. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you need to have: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required. Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one state or a territory of the USA OR Must pass the State Bar exam and receive a license to practice law within 10 months of hire date. Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. If selected for a full-time role, the salary range for this position is: $93,770.00- $179,240. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive.
