| The Executive Director of the Korea Law Center is responsible for managing the center’s daily operations and leading a research hub focused on advancing legal scholarship, collaboration, and professional exchange between South Korea and the United States. The role oversees initiatives that promote academic engagement, cross-border legal research, and meaningful connections among legal professionals and scholars. Academic Coordinator III: Executive Director of the Korea Law Center JPF10148 Location: Irvine, CA Job Type: Full time Reporting to the Dean of the law school, the responsibilities of the Executive Director will include, but are not limited to: • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the center’s vision to advance its mission and goals. The Executive Director will manage the center's programs and cultivate academic and institutional partnerships to ensure it remains a leader in Korean legal studies. • Partnership Management: Serve as the liaison representative of the Korea Law Center to cultivate partnerships with academic institutions, government bodies, law firms, judges, and lawyers in both Korea and the United States. • Fundraising & Operations: Manage center finances, personnel including all of the Korea Law Center visiting scholars as well as an administrative staff member, and fundraising efforts to ensure financial sustainability. This includes any development of proposals for extramural funding and identification of support resources that may be needed. • Programming & Events: Organize conferences and programs for visiting scholars, practitioners, judges, students, and others. • Communications & Outreach: Lead communications to maintain a high-profile presence for the Korea Law Center. Requirements: Candidates for the position must have a law degree (J.D. or LL.M.) from an ABA-accredited law school. Successful candidates will have: (1) proven leadership, managerial, and fundraising skills; (2) deep knowledge of Korean law, legal systems, and/or international legal collaborations; (3) and strong communication skills (proficiency in English and Korean is required). Prior experience with developing partnerships between the U.S. and Korea is highly desirable. Qualifications: Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates for the position must have a law degree (J.D. or LL.M.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
