| Assists the General Counsel in overseeing the overall legal functions of the Tucson Unified School District. Serves as part of a general law team, providing advice to and representing the school district in matters related to education law, contracts, employment, compliance, and student-related issues. Associate General Counsel Location: Tucson, AZ Job Type: Full time MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Juris Doctorate Degree, licensed to practice law in Arizona or eligible for admission on motion. Four (4) years experience practicing law, including two (2) years of litigation. REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense). Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in Labor/Employment law. Experience in litigation, special education and school law, juvenile law, constitutional law, or administrative law is highly desirable. Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
