Job Summary:
Minimum Requirements:
Ideal candidate will have experience with merger and target acquisition activity and strategic business evaluations and advises on such strategy. Significant experience with corporate governance issues and corporate secretarial responsibilities, as well as extensive knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations relevant to the healthcare industry is required. The General Counsel must possess excellent written and verbal skills and be able to effectively communicate with a broad audience of constituents.
Qualified candidates will possess a Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of five years in general practice.
The primary responsibility of this individual is to advise the executive leadership of the Network and the Board on various legal matters such as legal rights, new and existing laws and interpretation of the law. The General Counsel will review and draft legal documents on behalf of the Network, maintain knowledge of the Network’s operations and legal documents, conduct legal research and review the company’s litigation strategy when necessary. The General Counsel anticipates and mitigates potential legal problems within the organization and develops strategies to avoid litigation and reduce potential areas of risk.In addition this individual will participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs and provide continuing guidance on all legal matters.
