Full Job Description
Immediate opportunity for licensed Missouri attorney as part-time, in-house counsel for a growing healthcare software company headquartered in Kansas City. Work from home on company-provided computer. Employees and customers in Kansas City and across the country.
Approximately 5-10 hours per week during spring and summer months, ramping up to approximately 15-25 hours per week during fall and early winter months. Monitoring of emails necessary to track assignments.
Primary skills required are:
Contract review and negotiation, particularly in the areas of liability, indemnity and insurance
HIPAA compliance, Business Associate Agreements, confidentiality and security matters regarding Protected Health Information
Intellectual property protection
Employment issues, executive compensation, benefits, qualified and non-qualified plans
General corporate and business operations.
Job duties will require basic familiarity with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) performance measures, which are key to the company’s software products and services. Helpful skills include Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and general computer skills.

Since this is a part-time position, can you tell us something about whether you would plan to hold other positions and how you would schedule time for this position? We anticipate approximately 10 hours per week generally, but up to 25 hours from October through January when most of our contracts are negotiated. Also, we need the General Counsel to monitor email regularly to respond to inquiries as they arise.
