In-House General Counsel
Nidus Development - Williamsville, NY
Nidus Development has an exciting opportunity for a fulltime in-house General Counsel to join our leadership team. The position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Williamsville, NY. We are a small boutique commercial real estate development company, so we need a utility player who will identify and take on issues all across our businesses including corporate contracts, company acquisitions, company formation and administrative matters involving a wide variety of legal issues that arise from the day-to-day operations of a growing company
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strategic management of litigation
Self-starter who takes ownership and initiative with all matters and issues
Track record of initiative, problem solving abilities, and intellectual curiosity
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent business judgment, ability to think strategically and give practical advice
Excellent interpersonal skills; must be a team player and work well in fast-paced, highly collaborative, team environment
Requirements:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include:
Administrative matters involving a wide variety of legal issues that arise from the day-to-day operations of a growing company
Draft and revise a wide variety of legal documents
Provide legal counsel to all levels of internal clients
Work with outside counsel on various matters
Interact with key company leaders, government agencies, law firms, and other external agencies.
Draft and negotiate Company contracts.
Draft and negotiate Non- Disclosure Agreements with third parties such as consultants, potential collaboration partners, investors, and others as necessary.
Interpret all Company contracts for internal business clients and providing counseling and advising on such contracts.
Understand the strategic and tactical objectives of the business and developing creative and thoughtful solutions, considering the current legal and regulatory landscape and needs of the organization
Juris Doctorate and admission to the New York State Bar required.
3+ years of law firm or in-house experience required.
Strong legal writing and research skills using a variety of sources.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful and sensitive manner.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong Word and Excel abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
