Associate General Counsel, Director of Compliance
Waterway Gas & Wash is seeking an experienced leader to join us at our corporate office in an Associate General Counsel, Director of Compliance senior role. A successful candidate will be an attorney with proven ability to set up strategic and proactive programs, a willingness to roll up their sleeves, and a demonstrated ability to sweat the small stuff, while keeping a big picture perspective.
Waterway is fifty years old and we are the nation’s leading full-service car wash chain. Waterway owns and operates 25 (and growing) locations in Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City and St. Louis. Team Waterway is flat and fast, with little bureaucracy and a do whatever it takes for the customer attitude.
The Associate General Counsel, Director of Compliance will play a key role in development, implementing, and managing Waterway’s legal and compliance strategies and initiatives by providing leadership and collaborating with members of the Waterway Senior Leadership Team.

Monitoring and Reacting to Changes in Law

Management of Outside Counsel and Consultants

Leader in Culture of Safety
Compliance (OSHA/and other regulatory agencies)
Emergency Response
Associate General Counsel

Assist in Management of Outside Counsel
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate
5+ Years of Relevant Experience at Law Firm or In-House Legal Department
Experience Advising Senior Management on Legal, Risks, and other Issues
Leadership, and Ability to Influence with Unquestioned Integrity and Mutual Respect
Entrepreneurial Instinct
Working Relationships
Reports Directly to General Counsel
Key internal relationships will include CEO/President, Vice President of Operations, Chief Financial Officer, and Chairman of the Board
