Legal Counsel - Corporate Counsel

Envoy Global is a proven innovator in the global immigration space. Our mission combines our industry-leading tech platform with holistic service to streamline, simplify and expedite the immigration process for employers and individuals.
As our business continues to grow, that means more hands on deck within our in-house legal team. We are now seeking Legal Counsel to join our team on a permanent, full time basis within this generalist role. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will see you apply your sound commercial, corporate and/or contracts law background to this busy and pivotal role within our Organization. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of other matters, including employment, intellectual property, data privacy, and M&A. Naturally, we welcome experience in these other areas. In short, this role is ideal for a Junior Lawyer, with strong foundational skills, and a keen interest in adding more depth and breadth to their legal career.
PLEASE NOTE: Only those candidates who are members of the Bar Association of Illinois are eligible to apply for this opportunity.
As our Legal Counsel, you will be required to:
Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts
Assist with corporate governance matters
Draft company policies and related materials
Assist on other legal, regulatory and compliance matters as and when requested
Liaise with key internal stakeholders regarding relevant regulatory and compliance matters and queries
Remain open, and coachable as you are guided by our General Counsel
To apply for this role, you must possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Member of the Illinois Bar - and currently in good standing
2- 4 years of experience working at a law firm or in-house, with a focus on contracts, corporate, or commercial law
Business acumen and a sensitivity to commercial needs
Problem solving mindset, with the confidence to use outside counsel sparingly
An approachable demeanor and ability to learn and accept constructive feedback, in order to grow
This position is ideally suited to those candidate based in Illinois, who would be willing to occasionally work from our Chicago H/Q although this role is remote, working from home.
