Corporate Counsel and Compliance Officer
MediaMix365 - Santa Ana, CA
$110,000 - $130,000 a year
We are looking for a Corporate attorney and Compliance Officer to ensure that our operations follow all applicable laws and regulations. You will also serve as in-house counsel and manage all company legal matters and projects.
To succeed in this role, you should be a business-oriented, reliable professional who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand by their decisions. You should be familiar with risk management and our industry’s standards.
Ultimately, you will ensure we operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting our business objectives.
In this position, you will:
Develop and lead MediaMix365’s compliance strategy for applicable laws and regulations
Research, review, and provide business-oriented legal counsel and advice to internal stakeholders regarding various telemarketing laws and best practices
Monitor federal, state, and local regulatory activity to determine compliance needs
Review and comment on company training materials, policies and procedures, letters, notices, and other communications
Manage defense litigation and oversee outside counsel, advise on case strategy and settlements
Review third-party service provider agreements to ensure compliance
Provide ongoing compliance training to various departments
Work with various departments to address consumer complaints
Manage and conduct internal compliance investigations, risk assessments, and audits
Act as liaison with legal and regulatory bodies on compliance-related issues
Handle contract review and negotiation
Manage state licensing for all entities
Assist with other general operations and litigation needs
Requirements:
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Member of California Bar
3 years of legal counsel experience in a corporate in-house setting or law firm
Understanding of the TCPA, FTC regulations, CAN-SPAM, and state consumer privacy and consumer protection regulations
Excellent project management skills and experience driving compliance-related initiatives
Experience working with federal and/or state regulators a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgement in providing business-oriented legal advice
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 /year
