Primary Job Function
\nThis position is responsible for supporting an exciting variety of complex commercial litigation matters both inside and outside of the U.S. including, among others, antitrust, contract, advertising, class action, employment, and product liability matters, as well as government proceedings.<\/p>\n

Core Job Responsibilities:
\nAssist in developing successful litigation strategies
\nSupervise and direct outside counsel in execution of strategies
\nCounsel clients in all areas of the business and at all levels of management on legal issues, including creative approaches to dispute resolution
\nIdentify moderately complex legal issues related to assigned matter; propose alternative solutions
\nRepresent Abbott externally to customers, suppliers, competitors or government agencies; resolve legal issues using negotiation skills and legal expertise
\nAssist more experienced attorneys in resolving complex legal issues on cross-functional projects
\nCoach and direct assigned support staff in their responsibilities<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n

Minimum Education:
\nCandidates must possess a JD degree and have or be able to obtain appropriate licensure to practice law in Illinois.<\/p>\n

Minimum Experience:
\n4+ years of experience
\nExperience in antitrust and\/or governmental proceedings is desirable but not required<\/p>\n

Significant Work Activities and Conditions<\/p>\n

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)<\/p>\n
